After the Trayvon Martin shooting, Neighborhood Watch is now just The Watch (and gets a red band trailer) [Video]:

The tragic shooting of Trayvon Martin has made the marketing for the foul-mouthed alien invasion comedy Neighborhood Watch more than a bit unfortunate. To distance itself from that horrible event, the movie has gotten a new title to go with its red band trailer: The Watch.
Directed by The Lonely Island's Akiva Schaffer and scripted by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, The Watch stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade as a group of men who form a fake neighborhood watch group to get a little guy time, only to accidentally uncover an alien plot. The red band trailer above gives us the full spectrum of dick jokes we'd expect from a Rogen/Goldberg endeavor. Certainly not something to associate with a real-life tragedy.
20th Century Fox released this statement about the name change:
THE WATCH is the new title for 'Neighborhood Watch.' As the subject matter of this alien invasion comedy bears no relation whatsoever to the recent tragic events in Florida, the studio altered the title to avoid any accidental or unintended misimpression that it might.
'Neighborhood Watch' officially gets a title change from Fox [HitFix via HuffPo]
